I just saw an article over on Palm InfoCenter indicating that the internal codename of Palm’s next generation Linux-based version of Palm OS is being called “Nova.”
While I haven’t confirmed this yet myself, it looks like I’ll be saying good-bye to my old friend “Palm OS II, not 2.0, that’s already been done”.

I like Nova. I was never very comfortable with the Palm OS II moniker; it reminded me of IBM’s ill fated OS2. >Palm needs some fresh references as it inches us toward a computing revolution! 🙂

You are aware that “Palm OS II” was a name that I cooked up since Palm wasn’t publicly talking about the internal development effort.>>As for IBM’s OS/2 Warp operating system, I always though it was better than Windows NT 3.5 and 4.0.>>Alan G

Thanks Alan. Yes, I recall your post calling it OSII, and have seen it elsewhere being called POSII. >Kudos to you for cooking it up.>OS/2 may have been good, but it failed in the marketplace.>If the internal name is accurate, Nova, it just seems fresher, brighter and perhaps more hopeful than the names that have been floating about. Your effort is very appreciated.
